Multi-Department NOC for Telecom Network Monitoring

Creating a resilient monitoring and command center for telecom network operations

A major digital telecommunications operator in Central Asia with an extensive network infrastructure and millions of subscribers.

Development of a Network Operations Center (NOC) for continuous monitoring of more than 5850 base stations and support of reliable connectivity for over 7.5 million subscribers. The NOC includes dedicated environments for Security, Information Security, IT, and Regional Monitoring.

PROJECT GOAL

BACKGROUND

As part of the development of a new office, the telecom operator required a Network Operations Center comprising four dedicated monitoring rooms for Security, Information Security, IT, and Regional Monitoring departments.

The NOC had to meet operational requirements critical to the telecom operator’s day-to-day performance:

Continuous operation: support round-the-clock monitoring workflows.
Reliable visualization: deploy a modern system for displaying and managing content.
Operational resilience: maintain reliable operations and minimize disruptions and downtime through signal and power redundancy and defined support procedures.
Operator ergonomics: create workstations suitable for sustained use in a continuous monitoring environment.

SOLUTION

The new Network Operations Center was designed around several dedicated monitoring environments combining large-format visualization, operator workstations, resilient signal infrastructure, and software-based content control.

As a control room software Polywall manages the content displayed throughout the NOC. The platform supports operational scenarios and presets, access rights, source recording, and rapid routing of content to specific areas of the video walls, helping maintain continuous round-the-clock monitoring operations. Control room users can organize and route visual information to the required video wall areas for different monitoring workflows.

Results

The customer received a digital command center that supports continuous network monitoring and enables faster response to operational issues.
