SOC Video Wall for a Bank in Nigeria

From Separate Screens to a Shared SOC Picture: A Bank in Nigeria Deploys Polywall

Bringing multiple security monitoring applications into one shared view for the bank's security operations team
A privately owned Nigerian financial institution serving clients across the private and public sectors through investment banking, corporate banking, private banking, and treasury and global markets.
Deployment of a 3×2 video wall for the bank's Security Operations Center, driven by Polywall control room software.

PROJECT

The project set out to give the bank's SOC team a centralized visualization platform capable of displaying multiple security monitoring applications simultaneously on a large, shared display surface.

High resolution was a critical requirement. SOC operators continuously monitor security dashboards, SIEM platforms, network monitoring tools, threat intelligence feeds, and incident management applications. A large display area with high pixel density allows these applications to be viewed concurrently without loss of detail, minimizing the need to switch between screens or zoom into individual dashboards.

PROJECT GOAL

BACKGROUND

Before the project, the bank’s security team could not make full use of the monitoring applications it had in place. The tools were available, but there was no way to hold several of them in view at once, which limited how the team worked with the information they produced.

The client's information security function, and the SOC team in particular, were the drivers of the project.

SOLUTION

The client’s SOC is built around a video wall driven entirely by software. Polywall control room software platform runs on a single standard workstation and drives the video panels directly, without a hardware video wall controller or processor in the signal path — the display layer is software, and the hardware under it is ordinary IT equipment the bank's team can specify, service, and replace.

With Polywall in place, a wide range of applications can be reviewed at a glance rather than one at a time, and the SOC team keeps alerts from different monitoring tools in the same field of view.

The project was delivered by Quomodo Systems Limited, a Nigerian technology and systems integration company. Quomodo Systems provides solutions in both public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy and has a strong presence in Sub-Saharan Africa, where it has delivered successful projects in countries such as Ghana, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Cote d'Ivoire.
“
Our client needed its SOC analysts to see everything at once — dashboards, SIEM, network monitoring, threat feeds — without losing detail on any of them. Polywall runs on a single standard workstation with no dedicated video wall hardware, which made deployment straightforward and keeps ongoing maintenance simple.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Key elements of the solution include a 3×2 video wall of six displays serving as the SOC's shared display surface, Polywall control room software managing what is shown and how it is laid out, a single standard workstation as the video wall controller with no dedicated video wall hardware, and security monitoring applications launched and positioned on the wall by the SOC team, with each application sized for the view the analysts need.

  • Control Room Software: Polywall Standard
  • Video Wall Panels: Specktron
  • Video Wall Configuration: 3×2, six displays
  • Overall Resolution: 5760 × 2160 px (exceeds 4K UHD)
  • Video Wall Controller: standard workstation — Intel Core i7 / NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB / 32 GB DDR5 / 1 TB NVMe Gen4 SSD / Windows 11 Pro 64-bit

Results

  • Improved situational awareness. Analysts and management identify security events faster with all monitoring applications — dashboards, SIEM, network tools, threat intelligence feeds — visible together on one surface instead of being reviewed separately.
  • Collaborative incident response. The shared display surface gives the entire SOC team real-time visibility during incidents, removing the need to relay information verbally or share individual screens.
  • Faster decision-making. With concurrent, full-detail views of every monitored system, operators spend less time switching between applications and more time acting on what they see.
  • Hardware kept simple. The video wall runs on one standard workstation — no dedicated video wall controller or processor to specify, maintain, or replace.
