The Situation Center of the Atyrau region serves as an instrument to provide comprehensive information about the situation in the economic and social areas of the region and assists in a prompt prevention of critical and emergency situations and collates the activity of the region with other regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. These activities further optimize and increase the efficiency of the managerial decision-making process.

REQUIREMENTS

The basic requirement of the client was to create an efficient hardware-and-software system for the Situation Center of the akimat by using the services of a single integrator.

The software part of the whole project had to meet the following requirements which were crucial for the client:

• Integration with data systems existing in the region and in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Online data input for users of the system according to both the assigned access rights and the list of criteria defined by the Requirements Specification;
• Integration with data systems of government agencies according to the Requirements Specification;
• Reliability and stability of the system;
• Maximum usability.

SOLUTION

To manage data streams and to display data on the video wall of the Situation Center, Polywall software solution was deployed to support additional displays and individual screens of conference attendees. The features of this program package include the creation of scenarios for the conference and the option to cascade windows with data on the video wall of the Main Hall of the Situation Center to illustrate the bullet points of a discussion. Polywall software was developed to manage the display of information and provide support for congresses, board meetings, conferences and work meetings in control rooms and situation centers. This unique software package is an efficient tool for visualization management, the development of multiple scenarios for conferences and a dexterous management of software and hardware components.

RESULTS

Not only did Polywall software provide the centralized control over the displays and the video wall, but it also solved some basic issues of the Situation Center. Most importantly, it facilitated successful management of all audiovisual complexes, both in real time and based on predefined scenarios. Polywall also provided a solution to manage data visualization modes more efficiently from any number and types of displays. Finally, it significantly improved the possibility to display large volumes of numerical data from various sources for better understanding, which is mostly apply to shared displays.
