SOCAR Enhances Operational Efficiency with Polywall’s Advanced Visualization Solution

State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is a national oil and gas company headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Development of a multipurpose visualization center for production monitoring, executive meetings, crisis management, and international collaboration.

To create a high-tech visualization center to support operational monitoring, decision-making, crisis management, and hybrid executive meetings.

SOCAR required a modern operations hub to enhance production oversight, facilitate rapid responses to emergencies, and host executive meetings and international delegations. The visualization center was designed to be a flexible, multipurpose space that could support various functions, including emergency drills, hybrid conferences, and high-level business negotiations.

The multipurpose visualization center can work as a single space but is also divided into zones to address the requirements and different objectives of a client. At the center of the space, there is a large boardroom zone that serves as the main space for high-level executive meetings, the reception of large delegate groups, and large meetings with international partners. The space can be used to hold meetings on-site or in a hybrid format when some participants connect remotely.

The boardroom zone also includes delegates' workplaces equipped with personal motorized displays and a SHURE MXC640 conferencing system branded specially for SOCAR. The system integrator (Polymedia)’s team set up a special COVID-19 mode for the room, allowing the boardroom table equipment to be adjusted to maintain correct social distancing requirements.

The Audio system is represented by Yamaha VXL1B-8 line array speakers driven by an Extron XPA2004 amplifier and is integrated with the Polycom video conferencing system.

The visualization center improves the efficiency of the company’s work, monitors operations, and facilitates international-level meetings. Now SOCAR successfully uses the visualization center, including:

• Holding executive meetings both on-site and in a hybrid mode.
• Monitoring production activities on multiple manufacturing facilities (the production of diesel fuel and monitoring of all parameters involved in the process).
• Monitoring supply and transportation of gas to consumers and partners.
• Observing and monitoring the process of oil exploration.

Video Wall: 5x2 Mitsubishi 70HE120 projection cubes for seamless data visualization.
Video Wall Control: Polywall PRO software with Datapath controller (12 input/output ports).
Collaboration Tools: Two 75" FLIPBOX interactive panels, Wolfvision document camera.
Workstations: Six high-end workstations for employees.
Conferencing & Audio System:

• SHURE MXC640 conferencing system.
• Yamaha VXL1B-8 line array speakers powered by an Extron XPA2004 amplifier.
• Polycom video conferencing system.
• CRESTRON Matrix switcher for efficient content distribution.

The visualization center significantly improved SOCAR’s operational efficiency, providing a centralized platform for conducting executive meetings in both on-site and hybrid formats, monitoring production activities across multiple manufacturing facilities, including diesel fuel production and parameter tracking, etc.

By integrating cutting-edge technology and advanced video wall control capabilities, the SOCAR visualization center ensures seamless collaboration, rapid response times, and enhanced decision-making at an international level. The project has successfully positioned SOCAR as a leader in digital transformation within the oil and gas industry.
