Polywall 3.9: Evolutionizing Control Room Environment With VR Integration, Tailored Interfaces, and Enhanced API

September 16th, 2024, Dubai, UAE

We are excited to announce the launch of Polywall 3.9, packed with innovative features that push the boundaries of control room management software technology. This release introduces significant advancements designed to improve efficiency, customization, and user experience in the control room environment.
Here’s what’s new:

1. Polywall Personal VR Control Room

Polywall Personal VR Control Room is an innovative executive-level personal control room in a VR environment. It redefines the way decision-makers use data from remote video walls and workstations across geographically dispersed control centers, NOCs, and SOCs, all without the need for physical presence.

The solution addresses the growing number of control rooms used by modern organizations. Multiple large video walls, displaying critical real-time data, numerous operators who manage processes from multi-monitor workstations, often spread across various control rooms nationwide or globally, and BI systems, producing dashboards with vast amount of information - all posing a great challenge for heads of departments to control and monitor, and top managers to make data-driven decision making.

With Polywall Personal VR Control Room companies around the world can equip their decision makers with truly borderless situational awareness and stunning visual experience complemented with unbounded VR room customizations. By building personal VR control rooms, it becomes possible to bring interactive video walls, dashboards, and cameras into one convenient place, accessible in no time.

The solution is available both as part of existing Polywall projects and as a standalone offering. Clients can opt-in for a ready-to-use VR environment or commission a custom design with additional interactive elements tailored to their needs. Any existing Polywall installation can be equipped with a Personal VR control room as an add-on.

2. New tailored Interfaces and no-code scripting with the latest Polywall Automation

The update introduces a no-code automation platform with full IoT backend support and multiple connectivity options. Key features include:

  • Node-based programming: Engineers can set up the interfaces, program scripts, and make integration after minimal training, with no coding required.
  • Touch and voice control: New interfaces allow interaction via touch on any browser-enabled device, through voice commands with Amazon/Google devices, or offline using a microphone in tablets or smartphones.
  • Customization: Easy-to-decorate and modify interfaces with provided samples.
  • Additional support: Custom interfaces can be developed by integrators, and customers, or provided by the Polywall team.

3. Polywall API v2.0

The enhanced API introduces a more secure REST-based protocol, improving security features and expanding the command set 5x times for seamless two-way interaction with Polywall systems, enabling faster and more efficient integrations that improve operational control and scalability for businesses.

4. New license for small to medium-sized NOCs, SOCSs and control rooms

The new STANDARD+ license is a cost-effective solution for control rooms in dedicated networks, with one or several small to medium-sized video walls and information screens. The new license type allows live streaming from multiple remote workstations with high-quality live video streams without the need for any encoding / decoding hardware. With such features as Display-over-IP, Application-over-IP, or Device-over-IP, users of Polywall are completely flexible in defining what exactly is subject to streaming. Wide quality settings, simple or advanced modes for users with different knowledge levels, low-latency options, and other features make this tool the best choice for arranging a really flexible AV-over-IP network based on software, without any AV-over-IP hardware.

5. Windows 11 Support

Polywall 3.9 and all its components are now fully compatible with Windows 11, ensuring smooth operation across all components. For security-conscious customers with strict software updating policies, it is possible now to apply for the latest OS security patches.

6. Magewell Capture Card Integration

Enhanced integration with Magewell capture cards introduces features like Dante integration, cropping, rotation, and naming functions, improving content manipulation and integration in AV projects.

7. Minor Updates

  • Polywall Designer Updates: Improvements include better source management and layout preservation across different video walls, improving operational efficiency in control rooms.
  • General Software Improvements: The update also includes several performance optimizations, such as faster file transfer, increased connection limits, and enhanced security features. Bug fixes have been implemented to improve overall stability and user experience.

Polywall 3.9 marks a significant leap forward in control room technology, bringing VR capabilities, tailored interfaces, an expanded API, and new flexible licensing options. These advancements solidify Polywall as a leading solution for control room environments of different scales, from simple NOC or SOC to large distributed control rooms, offering unmatched customization and operational efficiency.
